I always start the truck and let it idle when I run my microwave just to be safe.

 

That may be the solution as half the time I end up starting it up anyway. Just seems odd to have to run the Truck to boil water… lol

 

Might be overloading the inverter (if equipped)

 

If anyoneis headed to american trailer drop lot in KC this weekend watch out for a darkblue f150. One of ats employees blocked the gate when i was trying to leave and locked me in, 20 mins later the owner pulled up running his gums and getting in my face telling me to get out and that were not allowed on his property, just acting like a pure ########. Ive already notified the company and theyre supposed to be dealing with the issue but just a heads up to all of you, happy new years

 

I always run the engine when using the microwave as if I don’t, it trips the inverter and I have to access the side box to reset it.

 

Thanks for the suggestions about the inverter. I think it’s a 900w microwave and that might be drawing too much power although I thought we had 1200w inverters. Either way that might be the weak link.

I thought it was a good “location” (meaning easy access) but ya, clean the place up, add a bit of lights and better security, and you might have a decent location.

Did u try plugging the microwave into the plug in thats close to the floor below the bed. Its hooked directly to the apu and alot more powerful than the inverter. The inverter wouldnt power my pc but that plug in had no problem powering my computer and microwave at the same time.
