Found a nice used pre def Kubota excavator for $18k. Was looking at doubling that with attachments to do what I need to do.

Started out looking at their stand on tracksteer.
    Construction - Stand-On Compact Loader - SCL1000 | Kubota

Till I found out the base unit was over $30k and would need another pile of cash for add ons.

May end up buying the neighbor a post hole digger for his little Kubota loader excavator as rent/back rent for the few things mine wont do.... Like digging holes for fence posts.

As far as "real tractors" your talking about the stuff they use to tend row crops? Center of gravity tend to be too high, really don't want to do a back flip if I decide to drive up the the hill while mowing. Also tend to be too wide for my trees. trees are planted on a 6 foot grid. Would also not fit in the green house I have planed out by the pump house either. It would quickly become a yard ornament for me.

As far as compact tractors go... with the steep terrain I need tracks and a low C.G. The neighbor dang near rolled his little Kubota, end over end, on the access road up from the back of my property. Figured a mini excavator would be better suited for the job. But looking at $35k to get the one mentioned above packaged with enough attachments to do the work it would need to do.

To put things in Perspective the BobCat style tracked skid steers start at about 6 foot wide. That's the path I started out till I figured out it would turn into yet another yard ornament once the house is built.
