Maybe because I am Canadian, and in the west, but if I hear LA, to me that is the Craptastic city in California.

It's not because you're Canadian, it's because L.A.(Los Angeles) is a socal dump. I hate the area.

No worse than when I see CA I at times ask if we talking Canada or California.......

LA both caps run together like that is the Postal Approved 2 letter abbreviation for Louisiana.

L.A. is the shortened for Los Angeles Usually referring to the greater Los Angeles basin (cesspool) In the southern area of Calif. (Calif is the old postal abbreviation for California).

The useless trivia that floats around in this old decrepit mind at time.........

Now I feel real old for lecturing others about stuff that I learned in elementary school that was obsoleted about the time Nixon was president.

    That's good to know.

Where I live, locals call it PG or Prince. Can always tell if someone is new, they call it Prince George.
Almost every town within say a 6 hour drive has a nickname, long term people in the area use, which makes it hard for newbies to understand.
Even roads, streets, highways, lakes, and rivers around here are known by their nicknames, further confusing people passing through or new here. Born and raised here, I was about 15 before I became aware those weren't even the real names for stuff.
At 31 I already feel old some days.
If asked directions, its like a challenging memory game to give them directions they will understand, not someone who has lived here their entire life.

IFTA stickers came in the mail. Now I can stop looking for them. Thought for sure, I’d already gotten them. Now it’s a DOT physical, and a new Annual inspection on T/T. Aside from MCS150 due in Feb, fuel taxes due 5-1-22, I can relax till the end of August, when Fuel taxes, 2290, and IRP plate are due. Funny how the Government gives you a chance to make enough to pay them. The timing couldn’t be better.

For some reason, your comment reminded me of this old song!
