Best owner operator companies to run for?

You do understand that "spot market" freight is just contract freight that other companies can't run themselves right?

 

Not all of it. Some of it is just random ### stuff.

My first ever gig as a new MC was playing yard dog for $325/hr at a brand new warehouse being built 20 miles from my house.

They had construction supplies/parts in them.

 

How's that high dollar Amazon trash working out for you?

 

I made a quarter mil on it last year and lots of others do too. Not Amazon, never Amazon, but spot market freight. And I do plan to buy a new tractor and trailer in the next year or two.

Nothing is forever, business decisions can be undone by other business decisions. Everything in trucking is subject to change, sometimes daily. Need I go on?

 

I'm doing okay locally with Amazon. Especially compared to the lease operation I just left.

I don't have a sleeper to take advantage of the entire spot market though, and my MC is too new for many brokers.

I would never buy a brand new truck if Amazon was my only option.

 

If you had access to their freight, you’d know the answer to this question.

LH didn’t ever show a rate con
You are supposed to assume they are being transparent but if they are then they are in fact selling themselves way short

They have decent rates and usually can keep you moving but personally I have had way more higher paying runs TTT where I am currently than I did at LH in the 8 years I was there and I’ve only been gone 1.5 years
Not saying they’re the worst but by my numbers. I’ve made more here
