    Hey everyone,

I have a 2012 KW T660. I bought it with a def problem. When I took it to the shop it was the nox sensor and the dash showed red engine light, yellow engine light, and a message " LOW DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID". Nothing showed on the def gauge. Fixed it and it drove for a week before having to take it to the shop again. This time red and yellow light appeared. Also the same message and now the red blinking light on the def gauge is on. First the red blinking light shows up and its at a full tank with the message LOW DEF FLUID and after an hour it brings the truck down to 5 MPH. we cleaned the dpf filter but still it did not help it.

    Any advice?

I know a guy who can do a far more.....thorough...... repair and does good work as the best option. Also does more traditional repairs if you dont want to take the.......thorough route for various reasons.Take it from someone who has had major emissions issues this year the thorough option may be your only saving grace if the problem is bad enough.......

As for the rest your in for a world of hurt. If the DPF clean didnt help and you already did the quality sensor in the tank and nox sensors then that leaves several problems. In assending order of cost. Clogged EGR, bad injectors and/or doser and decomp tube, bad wireing harness, bad EGR, bad ecm control modules, bad SCR sensors, bad SCR and it could be any combination thereof.

My advice would be to post the actual fault code & some people on here could probably point you in the right direction. There were issues with DEF level sensors that Cummins addressed through a calibration due to parts availability. If your issue is related to that specific TRP, then posting the fault code can save you a lot of time & money. Typically cleaning the DPF for a DEF issue will result in exactly what you're experiencing, which is the problem still existing.

To Add: If your truck is having a DEF level issue and isn't affected by this TRP then you can get parts or add a resistor to trick it.

When the red light is blinking in the def gauge it means there is an aftertreatment fault, usually in the scr system. post the codes.
