Not sure how many on this one. It doesn't have an hourmeter on it like the Predator did. Checked the other thread and looks like I put it on there in July of last year. It runs 10 hours or more a day except for weekends, when I'm at home. It's done pretty well, I like it better than the Predator 3500.

Wow! That’s great. The sky’s the limit. Like others said, 950’s are common. I think the reserve amps are 180, whereas the 750 dual purpose are 190. Not sure about dual purpose 950s. That would be best of both. Cost being the deciding factor. The 1050’s were quite a bit more at Batteries plus. Maybe $175? I paid $115 ea. for 950’s. I only have 3 batteries. They were Duracell brand. Alliance at Freightliners probably cheaper. Same exact battery. Made by East Penn Deka. They’re very good batteries. Can’t beat the Dealership prices. They were closed here, so I paid more at Batteries plus. Last ones were TRP from Peterbilt. I couldn’t find who makes them. There’s only 2 American manufacturers, East Penn Deka. Johnson Controls. Crown maybe? JC may Own them now. They’re all good. I think East Penn Deka is better. I used to get 1050s from WS Dealer. They claimed the plates were better. I believe it. Website boasts deeper 4 sides plastic encased cells. Less chance of shorting our. Better made. I’m sure JC is built good too. I’ve been to the PE Deka plant in Pa. a few times. It’s impressive, top notch. Hauled Lead ingots to a JC plant in Toledo years ago. It was an old shot hole. One line built Die hard Gold, and Interstate ? High cca batteries for cars. Every other one got different stickers. Lol.

Great idea. Would have never thought of that. You still have the best home made ac system ever designed.

If you don't disregard the manufactures spec's, then you won't be able to F with it constantly.

Spend some money on the APU and keep it correct. I woke up the other morning to 18 degrees. Batteries charged and oil temp at 54. Cranking is all about oil temp and charged batteries. High cca batteries don't seem to like to take a beating. In my opinion buy the right batteries for your APU and let it do its job. I was anti APU for years until I actually owned one. Wouldn't leave the driveway without it working correct. If you have no way to keep the oil warm then by all means buy the most CCA you can. I won't even consider idling until negative digits.

I do use the apu. But I have sunk 2k in parts into it in the last 2 years. I just get tired of working on it after awhile. I just bought another alternator for it couple days ago.

Think I had almost $4K in the one on Casper the first year. Another $3K the second, then it worked like a champ for years.
