    LIBERAL INCREMENTALISM at it's best!!!
First we refer to a real problem, to give it the appearence of being legitiminte, then we create a "new" problem.
Then comes the "FRENCH FRY TAX", payable at first, by the "morbidly obese" only, as they are now the "biggest threat facing America". Before long, all of us are paying the new tax as obesity slowly become unfashionable and ultimately, illegal!
And since that wont completely work, if you refuse to comply and eat better and lose weight, well, the gov't, in your best interest, stops paying for your healthcare until you fall within their approved physical standards.
Next comes the rationing of food, if you are skinny, you get more, if you are fat, well, not so much.
Sound a little far-fetched? I dont think so.
Look at some of the other things our "friends", the liberals, have perpatrated against our country and Constitution!
    WAKE UP, AMERICA!!!

But wouldn't the new Obama approach be
Let them eat fries and smoke and die
"Its not like we were going to cover them under the new socialist health plan anyway" :biggrin_2559:

I can see it now! McDonald's fries on the black market, french fry houses in all the bad neighborhoods, french fry ###### in the truckstops, somebody stop me! I cant help myself!

When french frys are outlawed, only outlaws and skinny people will have french frys!

I won't argue the facts -- obesity is dangerous. It's not comparable to cigarettes, though. There is no second-hand fat to endanger others.

LOL. Unless a fat person falls on you. (I'm fat. I can make fun of myself). :biggrin_255:

But you're exactly right. And if you combine all of societies "less obvious" poor lifestyle habits- smoking, excessive drinking, and drug use....I'm willing to bet these pose a much bigger health problem than obesity.

But since you can SEE obesity, but can't "see" whether that "healthy looking" man downs a bottle of Jack every night, or that skinny soccer-mom is secretly using meth to keep her figure trim, it's just so much easier and more socially acceptable for the government to target it with taxes & restrictions on health care.

Other unhealthy habits are not only 10 times more destructive to the person who engages in them, but also have harmful effects on the people & community surrounding that person. Unhealthy eating only affects the person who chooses to eat unhealthily.

And for what it's worth, I'm overweight but haven't had a french fry in about a year, lol...:biggrin_255:
