Truck Load Rates Halt 8 Week Slide 2.0

There’s still container boats parked off shore at every major port in the US, 106 off LA/LB alone. At 24,000 containers per boat..... that’s a 2.5 million container backlog, just in LA. Intermodal facilities are overwhelmed and can’t get containers onto trains anywhere fast enough. Companies in LA are diverting shipments to HOUSTON and trucking back to LA from there.

Just in shipments waiting on ships TODAY, we’re 5 million loads behind, if the containers are only handled once.

They're saying consumer demand for groceries is higher than it was in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic. I need to get back to work. Hope you guys are still killing it. U.S. grocery shortages deepen as pandemic dries supplies

Broke a record this week. A solo did $14,300 on 3035 miles. Complete insanity! That boggles ones mind for me at least. I can’t fill these two remaining trucks fast enough but so thankful to have the folks we do have. What did it was a $4,000 run on 400 miles.

My brokerage is getting killed lol but I’ll take it.

That's the whole point to this thread to me. So we can raise the rates, not lower them in the race to the bottom.

 

Going in on Monday to get the lettering and stripe done. The only thing that I’m missing is the deck plate. Merritt said two weeks out when I ordered it in December, then last week said first week of February because they’re having trouble getting shipping supplies for the longer deck plates. But then when I said I could drive to Denver and pick it up the truth came out that it’s not done yet. Lol

You earned some time off Joe. We're taking it easy this month. I'm just getting over fighting covid. Wasn't too bad, low grade fever and wicked chest congestion. Sorry to be gross but I've never saw mucus this thick before. It was exactly like rubber cement and just hanging at the back of my throat and just didn't want to come up.

These last few weeks been averaging 2000 miles doing the same turn. Coming back empty and reload for the next day. The broker hooked us up with the first 2 appointment times of the day, 6:30 & 7:00 and usually 12:30-1:00 pickup times but I'm usually back by 11 and they take me early most days. If the rate stays where it is you can't beat this schedule. Leave the yard by 3:00-3:15 and home by 3 at the latest. 410mi for the round
