I've been pondering this lately and wondered what the Truckers Report consensus would be: Best tractor for household goods?
The main obstacle to deal with on a day to day basis is tight turns through neighborhoods, apartment complexes, storage unit facilities, and city streets. So the sharpest turn radius you can get out of tandem axles while still having a sleeper.
Handling mountains on a regular basis is a must as well, but only while dealing with relatively light loads in the 15-25k lbs range.
Ergonomics are pretty important as well, nothing crunches the spine like an uncomfortable ride after lumping furniture.
Ideal moving semi truck in 2022?

Given that cabovers are no longer in production in North America (that I know of), what would be the next best thing?
Took a Cascadia with 53' trailer around roundabouts and through a neighborhood yesterday. It can be done, but I feel like a better setup might save some curbs (and shuttle time).truckdriver31 Thanks this. -
So... What is the shortest wheelbase tandem semi available in the US now?

If you stay in the middle of the country it might be doable.
New York and a lot of northeast states and California. Aren't.
