Got a sad update…the cow had to be euthanized earlier today. It became evident that it had suffered nerve damage and was unable to stand, so the decision needed to be made.
Still nothing on the driver. Thought you might wish to know.

Ok guys let me preface this by saying I hope nobody takes this the wrong way because I like everyone that makes this thread what it is, but with that said… it’s confession time. When I first started following this thread I thought a few of you were mental. How you talked about FCC and defended it against the naysayers. After spending a day up there for orientation, I get it. I have about a page and a half of business cards of people I met. Safety managers, shop managers, HR personnel, breakdown coordinators. Hell even the 2 recruiters I worked with came down and said hi. Everyone was nicer than the next. I hammered out a lot of my day fast because it was only me and the eld they use I was familiar with. So after lunch I just kinda walked around. Every driver says “hi” or “man I hate winter” or something. I’ve worked with people for years that I’ve known their name, and they’d act like they wouldn’t see you in the hallway passing. The shortest tenure driver I met had been there 7 years and all of em said the same thing “oh you’ll love it here”. I think what really was good to hear was when the safety guy said “we are steadfast on requiring at least 2 years of experience and even then we won’t just hire anyone. So we bring people on confident they know what they’re doing so we just let you guys do it. And we’re always here to help”. Really impressed with everything I saw and everyone I met. I brought and empty out of the council bluffs yard to KC and came home. I have some stuff to button up tomorrow and get stuff out of my previous employers trucks and I start fully Monday! Going to enjoy the 3 day weekend and see what next week brings.

Well this was a first for me. I arrived at the shipper in riverside mo. Checked in, got my paperwork and the door to drop my mt. Dropped it then drove around the bldg twice trying to find my loaded trl. Couldnt find it. I go back and the girl said it was a few doors down from where i dropped the mt. I go look and the trl they loaded it on was an old fcc trl. At&s owns it now. Guess it still said fcc on the inside. They ended up just loading the mt i brought in. Just dropped it in valley.

This sucks. I’m still out of action. I don’t know if I have Covid (I just visited mom over the weekend and she is in the hospital for a fall but testing positive for Covid) or if I’m severely dehydrated or what. But I can’t be vertical very long at all.
being sick especially multiple days while OTR really sucks.wulfman75, Crusader66, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this. -
