I could be wrong but I read over the last two years the average full-time truck driver annual income is now into the 70,000 range. In fact I think it’s around 74,000 a year. Just two years ago it was at like 52,000. That’s a huge jump. Trucking companies that have not increased their cents per miles are truly sticking their necks out to losing drivers.
The company I work for has increased their cents per miles three times in the year I’ve been there. And they’re still running behind. The problem is every time they increase the cents per miles they also decrease paying detention and layover pay. I literally have to threaten to quit to get layover pay it’s ridiculous.
