What's the deal with the "Tuition assistance now available" graphic they have Xpressdrivers.com? You click on it and all it does is bring you to a page to enter you SS# to start the application process. They could at least put up a page of information or a simple contact form and then let you decide if you want to apply. I don't know about anyone else but "Tuition assistance now available" is not enough to make go through the application process yet.

So does anyone know what they are offering? Will they pay your tuition in exchange for working for a certain of time? Select schools? I know of a school near me where you owe nothing upfront and during traing if you commit to a school they contract with. Is it like that? or is this a sneaky way or saying tuition reimbursement not assitance?

Hey wbgh, I just finished re certifying my CDL-A and will be going to work for USX they do have tuition reimbursement at a rate of $150.00 per month and they start paying after 30 days so you most likely will have to pay the total 1st bill and they pay a max. of 5K so you must have work for them for the rest of your life to get all the $ back, it's just one more way these companies twist what they offer and do.

The only way you'll work for USX the rest of your life is if you have a terminal illness and not expected to make it a year . Better make them a beneficiary on your life insurance so they don't go after your estate .

USX has a lot of happy drivers and a lot of unhappy drivers but show me a company who makes everyone happy. I've spoken to several drivers who have been with them 20+ years. I personally dont see me there that long because i dont wanna be a company driver forever.

they pay $150 it doe's not come out of your pay. And you don't have to sign a contract. That's what they told me.

They pay for the tuition while you are employed with them. They do make you sign a contract of "commitment". All that means if you quit befor you tuition is paid for, USX will slap the part they have paid against your credit report, unless you are able to pay it back.
