Hey guys have a question to all them cat experts so I currently have a 2005 kenworth t800 with a cat c15 bxs prefix engine the engine has blow by so Im going to have to overhaul it or swap it to a junkyard 6nz im looking for more power and better fuel mileage and better throttle response i dont feel that the bxs runs like them 6nz
Should I overhaul the bxs do the single turbo swap and tune or swap 6nz and tune???
Thanks for any advise

Get the BXS properly tuned. A single turbo will never outperform the twins.
Lalito.1234 and A5¢ Thank this. -
Do you know of any good tuners??? That can help me with that thanks

Rebuild the bxs as a 6nz. Acert is a great start to a good reliable engine.
16:1 compression pistons and remove IVAS.
Keep the twins I think.
Bxs is 70 pin I believe. Lots of good tunes for them. Facebook cat engine masters has good info. Or Kurt Murray is a great tuner and very knowledgeable. Little spendy but worth it. Pm me and I could get you his contact information -
BXS is as good if not better than a 6NZ with a good tune
lester Thanks this. -
Ill take my MXS over any 6NZ ive come across yet . Blocks are stronger . I believe the BXS and MXS are almost the same . My MXS has zero polutuion additions . Well except for a little black smoke when you really stomp on it
little cat 500 Thanks this. -
Could you email me Mr Haney's contact info?

If you go to cat tuning on Facebook, there are lots of guys there that specialize in tuning, I would personally be really careful about letting anyone put a tune in my truck. But along with everyone else, I would rebuild the bxs remove IVA's and put a good non lo nox cat tune in it
Oxbow and little cat 500 Thank this.
