I enjoy this thread so much I just can't let it die. So @expedite_it This is my trailer. If you can't tell that rear most axle(the one to the far right in the picture) is a lift axle or tag axle. Can you tell me what TWO things change when I drop that axle while loaded? There's probably really 4 things that change. 20220203_014039.jpg

You can do that, but it isn’t advisable.

That action could lead to overextended air bags, which sometimes have a tendency to go “BOOM”.

Then i won't do it. I don't want to damage any equipment.

1# you lose your trailer swing

2# your trailer off tracks more, so you have to swing wider on turns.

When the lift axle gets put down, it would take weight off the trailer tandems.

Would letting that lift axle down lower the weight on the drives (even though the trailer tandems are in between)?
