DEF is the "other" hose on the opposite side of the pump from the fuel hose. It has a rubber flap covering it that you lift up to access the hose, then press the activation button on the pump. Just like when selecting different grades of gas. Be prepared, the hose pulls out hard.

I’ve had to grab def a few times due to cold freezing up the def pumps and I had to get def or else have issues. I never saw the skip portion of the fuel step. I always just splashed a gallon of fuel then proceeded to add def like normal. It doesn’t happen often but it can.
learned something new today.

DEF!!!!! The main reason I didn't order a diesel in my Ram when I purchased new in 2018. I got the 6.4L Hemi and it is a beast when it comes to pulling the 5th wheel RV in my avatar picture. I get 9mpg when pulling the Rv and about 16-18 without it as long as I don't floor the pedal. I sure miss the good old days without Def, electronic logs and auto transmissions..

Showed up first thing this morning to the body shop to see about getting a new bumper piece put on and first thing body shop guy asks me is when was the truck last serviced? He said when mechanics remove those pieces to service a truck they usually don't put them back on and tighten them properly. He was cool about it and put a new one one and thankfully had a green panel to put on it too so no generic black piece.

If I am understanding you right you just wanted Def. To my understanding at some truck stops you can't get just Def you have to get both. You just go through the prompts and get a gallon or two of fuel and then get your Def.
I think love's will allow Def only but pilot flying j you have to get both.

We are set up to get either truck fuel, reefer fuel or DEF together or whichever one is needed. I’ve got reefer alone, DEF alone and truck alone since we switched over to EFS 7 years ago. In fact, I recently got DEF alone in Montana before Christmas.
