Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

I thought about it but not enough room with a trailer in door 4 with stuff stacked in front of it and all the stuff stacked across from the docks in front of the fence.

 

Looks like a pain in the $$$ for sure.

 

Sad thing was they had me loaded in 5 minutes.....i could have been in there and out of there by 1530 if the shipping office hadn't been so incompetent in assigning docks....16.5 hour day today for me....

 

I miss pulling tankers, less bs and always happy to see you pull in vs the incompetent, pissed off, disgruntled ppl one deals with when pulling boxes....

 

Naw. If you'd bumped the dock at 15:00, the load would not have been completely ready and you woulda been there until 16:30 anyways waiting for them to pull the last bits off the production line.

 

Guess they are letting ppl lease off the bat coming in. Had a lease op holler at me on CB asking me stuff about loads and other company stuff on my way down to my live unload. Said he started Friday and doing short haul home on weekends except one weekend he stays out to afford the insurance stuff. Said he aint going to make it unless he gets all drop and hooks. Refuses anything live. I told him good luck with all that.

 

I see Kight-Swift is getting autonomous stuff installed in some of their new trucks being built....wonder if that will trickle to us....oughta be interesting when they get on the road.

 

Update
I want to thank everybody that prayed and had well wishes for my mom.

She sadly passed away today,I'm thankful that I was able to hold her hand when she went.

I'm thankful to abilene,for allowing me to take the time off I need.

But most off I'm thankful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,my mom was a believer,so she's in a much better place now.
