You will starve if you have a family. Oh the 1st two weeks will be great then it drops some weeks you will make as much as $400 others you will end up in the whole. Your truck will be governed at 62 and they will check your logs (which are getting ready to be paperless) against you quallcomm. You will pay for all kinds of BS like $42 a week for an administration fee. If you are looking to go lease I suggest JCT or Knight Refrigerated.

What about 48 state or Western 11 on the company side?...if these guys are going in the hole that's bad. 400 a week sounds about right, but how are they hitting negative unless they are getting hit really hard with idle penalty cuts?

I have considered May, How have they been about home time and miles? I have an offer elsewhere but it is a 48 state compnay and may be thinking of something regional.
    Thanks

Ive Been at May For 6 years and have never been denied my raises, im currently at .40 per mile and they do give you 1/2 cent per mile every 6 months, keep in mind you have to do a good job, if your a slacker you might not do as well, with this comp. you need to get with a good dispatcher and just do your job well, they have worked with me thru divorce (extra time off) etc. If you consider yourself a good employee then you should have no problems here.

Hey T and T, I agree, just got hired and sent out with my trainer. I interviewed several companies and May was tops. No one individual or company is perfect ya just got to do the best ya can everything should work out fine.

I can't dis-agree that May dose give you your raises on time. How ever after 6 yrs you are only making .40? At Marten I started at .39 With a truck that dose 65 mph. No one telling me how to run it or how to get from A to B. I am responsible for planning my fuel stops and for getting my services done. It is true that if you can keep your mouth shut, be a good little drone and let some one else do all the thinking then May is the place for you. If ,how ever, You are able to think for your self and are able to do the job without having to be told when to breath. Then May is not for you.
