Just a suggestion.
Go to the OOIDA site and do some reading.
Pay the 25 bucks and become a member, that way you get access to more of the information they have. Next contact your state trucking association, they will have a lot of information as well.
Then start working on a business plan. When you get that done, you should have a good idea of what you need to do. Then do that.

I think looking at Prime would be a asset. Right now they have freight, you can lease a truck, or buy one or bring your own and run power only. Use their trailers, fuel cards etc and run your own numbers. Start listening to their Friday safety meetings on you tube. Maybe not for everyone, but looks like a way to get started.
