I'd rather get more experience than pay that but that really depends on what is at stake. Maybe someone's business plan calls for $500 000 annual revenue, in which case 40 grand for insurance is just a little bit of money.
    That's what I think here. That's right.

That's right. Age is a factor and it naturally coincides with experience. It is naturally good that they quote youngsters as much because … everything has its due time. If a youngster is capable to overcome the high threshold, he or she will prove their worth and at the time of the renewal, they will be rewarded accordingly.

So you bought an MC + Dot thinking insurance will be cheaper?

insurance is based on driver experience first then MC.

If any part of that equation = new, then premium is high.

I love it when they realize their purchased MC isn't going to help them cheat their competitors.

That’s fine, but a class B CDL isn’t a Class A. So you are getting quoted for experience. In this case you have none. I know of one guy that had his class A for 20 years but no driving experience past 16 years yet he was quoted 10k in Cali with a new MC. Insurance company didn’t know that. You might have to either move the company out of state or just try to find another company that will ensure you. Not many insure new drivers if they do then it’s going to be high for the first 3 years.
