Whenever id get in trouble, dad used to tell me he was gonna spank me so hard i wouldnt be able sit down for a month ! The threat of that was enough to right me from my troublesome ways.

Punishment was swift, sure, and painful.

She had a favorite leather strap in the kitchen drawer.

She had a couple heavy cooking spoons that she would swing with gusto if they were right to hand.

I don’t know if it still stands, but I once held the record for the number of wood spoons broken over various parts of the body in a day— Mom had a real nice collection got mad enough to break one on me— that PO’d her worse, so another one went and by the time it was over, there wasn’t any spoons left— Dad escorted me to the store to buy replacements and a plane ticket — been on my own ever since

 

Well, breakfast today is fake eggs, real bacon, sliced tomatoes, and 3 pancakes about 5 inches across. Fake syrup! I sure would love a country-fried steak with gravy, alongside some home fries and hash browns. Hey, I can dream!
