Only 6K miles on my truck and it’s already kaput.

The shop went to do some kind of software update on it and now the automatic boat anchor transmission doesn’t go into gear. :biggrin_25510:

No, I was driving on i-35 yesterday and hadn't spoken to him in a couple of weeks. The last we had spoken his O² numbers were better, and they had started treating him for the correct problem. I've been in and out of this industry for half of my life, more if you count the years I was growing up riding with family, and he was one of the greats in my opinion.

    Well the deed is recorded.

The OM has gone off feeding schedule and turned on the AC.

This is why you don’t “fix” what’s not broken!! :biggrin_25516:

As somebody that came close, I too am sad over this loss. While not a driver I heard this morning that a retired police officer I know had a stroke and died several hours later yesterday. I have my own pulse oximeter and can tell even now how my reading change. I know some question how accurate they are, but I can see the readings change during the day. Most of the time my readings around here are in the mid-90s. Let me wear that #### mask for 30 minutes and it's in the mid-80s. Sorry about that loss.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.

I'll bet I heard that no less than 1000 times at CDL school.

This one guy was a good ol boy. And people would be doing a strait back and then move the wheel, then would come, " If it's not broken don't fix it."

I got kinda lucky. Series 60 ECM’s from Detroit are on backorder of course. Could get from other suppliers for cheaper but looking at 2-4 days. Have already lost enough revenue so drive 40 miles in the morning to swap out. And hopefully he can finish truck by end of day.

For the Series 60 they make two different ECM’s. One is for on highway and the other is for fire trucks, buses, off road. At least I think thats what he said. You can use the one for on highway but not vice versa. He has that one in stock. I have no idea about any of this so I am trusting them as they are a Detroit shop.

Hopefully I won’t have to pull out my grumpy whizzed off attitude out tomorrow because someone was mistaken.
