Actually,they traced it back farther a couple years ago.They managed to trace it back to early 1900s late 1800s some how.

When it hit main stream news in the states, it was the early 80's. At that time it was branded as a mostly homosexual thing.

Yes, I know that it really started as an African thing and that small numbers of people, other than homosexuals got it.

It is still mostly a heterosexual disease, even here in the US. Although it was noticed in the homosexual population first.
It has NEVER been a "gay" disease, don't discredit yourself by saying it is.

 

Sure they did, but that was long before the facts of the disease were known.

 

Yep.HIV was originally called Homo Immuno-deficiency virus.Was changed to Human.

 

That is what I was saying, it was first picked up in the homosexual community by the medical research.

It was known as a gay disease through the 80's. It's not right or wrong, just way it was at the time.

My Aunt takes care of, and has adopted, several babies born with HIV. Most of them have been born to black women, who were/are IV drug users, who contracted HIV/AIDS from sharing needles with another who had the virus.

This is not an "gay scourge", as I have heard it called. It affects all ethnicities, ages, and sexual orientation...gay, straight, bi...doesn't matter.

Just my two cents.

And the woman who the OP posted about, I hope she is found, tried, and convicted to prison for a long, LONG time!
