I am hoping this truck doesn't have a 7 speed in it.Not sure what tranny but I was told by a guy that looked at it for me,there was a button on the side of the shifter and the shifter has a small knob.I am thinking 9/10 or maybe a 13 with the valve on the dash.

that truck needs a visor, you've gotta get a nice stainless visor on that thing, for your sake I hope its not a 7 speed either, what an odd peice of equipment, your #### near in the passenger seat when your going to 7th lol.

It has a factory visor with it.Itty Bitty Fiberglass jobber.I hope I can find a ready to go stainless one for a General. This is one of those odd ball trucks. Not quite as easy to get bling bling goodies for as a 379 or a W900.

Actually, that ain't a bad idea.Just find one from a scratch and dent place.Yank the motor and compressor off and mount them behind the cab in a box.Now If I could find one of those sweet military diesel jobbers.......I wouldn't need to haul around some gasoline with me.

Bought a new General in 80 and traded it in in 86. It had 400 Cummins, 15 speed, 48,000# rears, 18,000# front axle, double steel frame, .433 rears, Hendrickson spring over walking beam suspension. A construction outfit out of Washougal bought it for hauling their lowbed. Two years ago it was sitting in their yard unused. Might want to take a look at it when you are over this way.
