So driving in ungodly traffic and out of now where in the 2-3 lane is a blown semi tire. I was turning into the lane as it popped out of no where and ran it over with the trailer. Ended up busting my air lines and electric line. Brakes come on and ruin my nice 1 year old tires.
Only good news is I had enough fittings and connectors to put it back together until I can get it fixed. Hopefully tomorrow the utility shop down the road from where I am heading is able to get me in and fixed right. I don’t think I can slide tandoms as it is set up now.
Ran over semi tire and broke my air lines. FML

Word of advice, if those tires aren’t round anymore I think it’s doing more damage to the suspension and other components to run em like that with all the vibration. I had a similar situation and I chose to be cheap and it cost me. Some things rattled loose on the leaf springs and brakes and ended up costing me money. Nothing too serious but I think if I hadn’t caught it in time it could’ve been worse.

My Trailer had the wires spliced from being dragged, courtesy of Penske Trailer where I bought it. Supposedly splicing ABS is a DOT violation. I wasn’t ever bothered for it. Eventually it needed re splicing. Got a new one from Fleetpride at a great price. Some prices quoted were outrageous.

I know, we've all run over stuff while seemingly watching the road, like "where the xxck did that come from?" A tire is a bit much, however, and just having the parking brakes come on shouldn't necessarily ruin the tires, you must have dragged them quite a ways. If the "clopping" tires bothers you, and will probably shake like the dickens, get some tires, fix the lines, and get going. Just another busy day in the trucking world. Get used to it, it's only going to get worse from here,,,but that's another subject,,oops, O/O section, dang, sorry.

Most manufacturers leave a couple extra feet of abs wire bundled together in the run for just this reason. Makes repair splices easier. Usually cable tied together somewhere out of the way. For years both Wabash and Freightliner did this.
