But the parents have to have it to teach it ..and the student must have learning capabilities
That's why I'am a firm believer in Darwinism

As long it does not affect anyone else. I’m for it as well.

Two Austin Musicians Killed in Wreck

Mitch was my friend. The truck driver who killed him was outside the HOS and on the phone with a broker/dispatcher about booking the next load. The person was caring a lot more about making money than safety, but his behavior is "excused" by people who are cherry picking data and reposting click vast headlines rather than looking at the real data.

Can you please tell me why you beleive that the msu/uaz study is lying but you beleive that a vmt per fatality that only matches 2014 (ie, sorta in marvin of error) is proof that elog mandates improve safety? Each of the categories they (nhtsa) touted as lower fatality rates were not trucking specific, dont you think if their data proved elogs improved safety instead of compliance, theyd be screaming it from the rooftops?

Believe as you will, but im not sold that elog mandates did actual safety any good, they may not have done any bad to it, but thats a far cry from irrefutable proof one way or the other

No one is excusing his behavior, or reckless driving, we are simply not sold that even if he had an elog that it would have changed anything

Doesn't give details about the truck driver.. are you saying that truck driver was running on paper logs and that would not have happened if he was on Elog ? and it sounds like distracted driving was as much of a cause as over on his drive time .. BTW hand held electronic devices usage is illegal while operating a CM too are we gona open that can of worms now too ?

    Coffey Thanks this.

Common sense in a field can be taught by example and by teachers speaking it. However, for various reasons, there are a ton more new drivers these days that have barely a fraction of the past experience and language to understand those lessons, even if they wanted to learn. A "country boy" from NY is a lot more like a "country boy" from New Mexico than some juvenile delinquent who can't even name someone with a regular job in his neighborhood and needs subtitles to communicate to anyone outside of the neighborhood. Anything can be taught, but not EVERYONE wants to learn. Trucking these days has a lot of 60 day wonders that failed before they got into trucking, failed at picking a company, and quickly have/will fail at trucking.

Coffey, Last Call and ZVar Thank this.
