@jarhead0311. Brother, we got your back. Be strong. I’m thinking if you push this a little harder, you might get a better result. If they admitted to this being wrong, and I know of a couple others with the same issue, they should do the right thing.

just a different spin on it.
Shucking, yes…. Sucks, yes.

Have you explored the possibilities of her being on Medicaid or is she on it now? If she meets the guidelines, her medical care should be taken care of, without being a burden on you.
Again, please forgive me if I have stepped in "where angels fear to tread". But my wife worked in the medical insurance field for over 30 years, my step daughter is a R/N at UVA and there is help for you and your fiancee.
Did a little searching and found this.
"
One of the most common reasons older couples choose to live together
instead of marrying is to avoid joint liability for debts, especially for long-term care or medical bills.
Staying unmarried also enables each partner to qualify individually for public benefits, such as Medicaid,
without draining the other partner's resources. There are detailed rules about how this must
be structured to avoid inadvertent triggering of joint liability, so if you are considering such a strategy,
consult with an attorney specializing in elder law before you make any big decisions."

Left the house Wednesday morning on what can only be described as the ultimate load planning fiasco. What should have been a nice 880 mile trip to Richmond turned out to be a 1350 mile trailer hunt comedy hour that took 2 full days. Out of 1350 miles, 490 was loaded and 860 was empty that covered 3 states looking for an empty. Finally got to Richmond last night with an 11 minute log violation. I’m now headed to Idaho and Washington. The good thing? I won’t have to deal with operations until next Thursday.

Finished a reset in Colton then picked up a produce load to Washington CH. About 20 miles from Barstow I hear a loud pop and wooshing sounds and lost a bit of power. Hose from the Radiator to the Turbo popped off at the first rubber piece so I sit at the TA waiting to get that fixed. Glad it was just the hose popping off.
