If they’re delivering to stores without docks, I would avoid this. A pallet of groceries on a liftgate sounds sketchy at best.

I tried to work in the warehouse right after high school years ago. Realized they advertise careers to prisoners. Huge majority of the warehouse were felons. Expect the trailer to have crap just thrown in there. As long as it doesn’t tip over when we loaded the trailer, they didn’t care how poorly it was stacked and wrapped.

If you’re really wanting to try groceries, I would suggest Publix or Sharp (Aldi) in that order.

so i learnt my lesson, i'd go into the trailer before the fork lift guy and shove dunnage in between the loose bottles.

They're dangling a $12k sign on bonus out there. My brother doesn't really know trucking and figured I'd want a home daily job with decent pay. I'm sure it was his boss's idea.
I'm not against a home daily decent paying job, if it's something that I could physically do. Most already know that Florida local typically pays peanuts with very few exceptions.
But my health has declined to the point that it's all I can do just to get in and out of the truck. So I stick with long haul OTR.
Mainly just researching here so that I can honestly tell my brother that I looked into it. -

I think it would be beneficial to other TTR members to have some insight on what the C & S driving jobs entail.
I honestly have no idea how physical a job it is. I doubt it's just sticking a trailer in a door and just pulling another one out.
Hopefully someone will come along and give some details.mitrucker Thanks this.
