Volo I-shift transmission shot after only 50k miles

That is a costly issue to have. Can't really blame them for the issue and I can see it bring an issue with you as well. This is a no win situation and most likely gonna have to eat the cost. This is one of the cost of being an Owner Op and it sucks.

 

What did the dealership say was the root cause of failure for the transmission replacement prior when it was still covered under warranty?
Simply saying it failed is BS. What caused that failure and was it properly diagnosed down to the root cause?

I have seen Volvo reps cover what they are responsible for and including complete engines.

 

50k miles and you never once thought about checking fluid levels? Should be part of a regular PM routine.

 

I always find that when you pick up a vehicle that has just been serviced or repaired at a workshop, check to make sure everything is screwed on properly including doing a fluid check, by rights those mechanics should have a check list to go through where by everything is ticked off as its completed they obviously missed the one that said fill gear box back up with oil. By the way I'm just curious do you have a gearbox temp gauge on your Volvo dash?
