Thinking about starting a truck company

    I recently started work at a quarry and see a lot of owner operators hauling aggregate for cement companies. I’m wondering how they go by securing these loads. I know they can lease on to a company and go by it that way but can I start my own company and hire Owner operators.

    Some work thru brokers, some are co. drivers whose co. works with the quarry. I did this type of work in S.Ca. where there are many quarrys. You build a business relation ship. So the quarry knows what co.s have the biggest fleet. And may call a co. that can send 20 trucks for a job.

    I’d suggest getting your CDL and doing the work. It’s not as easy as those couple sentences.
