I'm having the same issue. All I keep getting is BS call's from like SRT and J.B Hunt. SRT only wants to give me .31/mile and from what I hear they do a lot of sitting. J.B. called me today asking for me to come to work and told me it's lease or nothingat all. Tried to feed me a line of #### and still refused unless they had a company spot open. He hung up on me. Those are some rude ### people over there.

As far as I know he is. I just finished school in November. He injured his wrist so he couldn't work until that was healed, so instead he taught. He was a very good communicator and explained it several different ways 'til we got it. And honestly, I learned more from the stories (which the school hated), than when we were driving. Go figure.

BTW, sorry about replying so late, just saw your reply. -
Excellent post. I've been saying all along you've got to think outside the box. Or stand in line (or I should say wait by the phone) just like the hundred other drivers looking for that job.

poppa t:now i no its hard getting started in this business in perticularthe way things are now but though it may seen so it is not hopeless you just got to hange in there my friend.
if your looking to work for a major compamy you got to remember they now have more qualificatios then ever before why? because of the econamy. there are a lot of drivers out of work and more falling by the wayside every day now they can pick and choose as they please such as 10 years previous expeirence and three yesrs current expeirence varifiable that is utter nonsense it is not required anywhere that is just there way of picking and selecting the drivers they want, hell i dont know where i was at 10 years ago it is ridiculess but they get away with it .
you just have to pass those kind of companys on by bepieve me you dont need them anyway.
do a search on the intrnet for CDL driver fill out a few applications and i think you wil get a response from several just dont give up.
if its what you want just dont give up remember you never lose till you quit and dont listen to all the truck driver storys there just that storys.
good luck my friend. southernpride -
57 and pursuing a trucking career? fudge THAT!!! 5 more years are you're ready for welfare, errr uh, I mean, "social security." I'm only 34 and I don't know if I'd go back to bouncing around in a truck all week even if they paid me!
