84,626 miles grossed $281,959 while working 2 wks in Jan and Feb and off all of April and home for resets most weekends
And miles are miles. Empty/loaded doesn’t matter when I give the broker my rate I’ve included my deadhead into that rate.

26313 total miles. 18192 loaded. $96007 total income. I started for hire March 1st, so only had 10 months in. I farm also, so take some time in the summer and fall to take care of that. Pulled 95 loads. Worked 905.25 hours Averaged $3.65/mile on all miles. Made way more than I would have at my full time job, and worked less hours. But, it wasn't all a walk in the park. I have my own numbers, do my own dispatching, billing, and most of the repairs to the truck. I try to only be out 2-3 days a week. Home every weekend, and only spend 1-2 nights in the truck.

This year is looking even better. Down to 21% on DH miles, and averaging $4.16 on all miles.

$122k. Is that your personal AGI or is that overall gross?

Sounds awesome! I know farming ain’t easy as it is, but you’ve got a pretty cool side thing going with the trucking it seems. Would you say you cleared overhead from the truck and made some profit to boot?

    Coffey and shooter19802003 Thank this.

Shoot, always something to do at my house. I get to fix all the crap woman and kids broke while I was gone. Then fix all the fence and what not the critters tore up while I was gone. Finally there is fishing, always time for that.

2021 was a good year, probably the best I've ever had. I'd have to go back through my books, but I did end up on the + side of things. The farm helps to balance out my taxes.
