Truth told..regardless of the outcome of the pending trial, I have no problem with a legal owner stopping a criminal in the act.
As a licensed permit holder in 3 states I am well aware of my responsibilities before firing my weapon and by the reported story, albeit brief and lacking details, sounds like the shooter was not in the best position to fire under most law imho.

 

What about the people on the bicycle the theft would have ran over if he hadn't been stopped first. I thank him for looking ahead and reacting.
