Experience has shown the Goodyears are sensitive to bearing preload being absolutely right. Even just a little bit off and they will develop weird wear patterns and need sooner replacement, mainly on steers and inside tires on duals. Whoever invented preset bearing assemblies is an agent of Satan. Max pressure on the steers helps, as does cat's eyes on the drives to keep the dual sets pressure equalized. Ultimately, the solution is to throw out the bearing spacers whenever the hubs need service, and set them right.
One thing that's not obvious about the Goodyear line is that the lesser brands look exactly the same when viewed side by side. They are different. You bought the top tier tire, so this isn't entirely relevant to the OP. The Kelleys and Dunlops are decent value choices, but have never worn as well on drives and steers in my experience. However, the Kelly trailer tires have been good and seem less prone to picking up rocks as the Goodyear equivalents. If I recall you don't haul vans so ymmv of course. I don't have any particularly good or bad traction stories to tell. We don't go off road much. But do run up north in the winter and manage to do what I need to do. Maybe I just don't know better, but I haven't got any complaints.Coronado2020 Thanks this. -
The price is , on point, I've run them on my spread axel, 12000 miles before I put flatspots in them, just bought all 8 again, 7000 miles and just checked them for air,.... 110, two of them had 108, just put steers on been running kelleys

So .... unless I need a tire in an emergency or am using a national account. TA is a no go for me on tire pricing.
In the future. TruckersB2B is "free" and you can get intro tier tire account pricing at any dealer. 5 minutes to set up an account. Give em your credit card info. Call for PO when you get a tire service. They charge you back. Could be immediately, could be 30 days. Probably would have saved you at least a g ... if not two on this purchase. They do Yokohama, Goodyear, Continental, General, Michelin and BF Goodrich
If you are in Phoenix ... Blue Ribbon tire are good people. Betts does the best suspension work and Alignments for a big shop. Arizona Laser Alignment is the best "inexpensive" alignment ... do not have them do any other work, they will bend you over and give it to ya raw with no lube.Vampire, shatteredsquare and Coronado2020 Thank this. -

I've got those same tires on my drives for the last 2 years. Ran the same tread for a few years as recaps on the drives. Currently they're wearing perfectly. The caps did good too. Great tire imo and I won't buy anything else for the drives.
