I once lived in that motel for a few weeks at the end of one of my successful marriages .

 

Yes it is ....in the past 3 days I've seen 2 trucks parked on the shoulder with no triangles out and the window curtains closed.

 

I threw alot of sandbags along that river on the Moorhead mn side when I was a kid .

 

I had extra incentive to sandbag ....I lived in the house I was sandbagging .
The red river valley is an ancient glacial lake bed once sailed by viking ships and was called lake Agassiz and is why the red River flows north into lake Winnipeg which is still frozen backing the river up into north dakota and Minnesota .
The red isn't a great recreational river as far a boating and swimming goes but it holds monster Channel cats , sturgeon and Northern pike that brings fisherman from far off places .
There are 2 dams at fargo I used to fish that I lost entire bait casting rigs to cause I could run fast enough to grab before they were dragged into the river , and God help if you fell into that river .

It will take you to the hjemkomst center in Moorhead.
The hjemkomst was a viking ship ( pronounced yencomst ) that sailed the red river valley known as lake aggaziz after the ice age.
It was excavated out of the ground near Moorhead MN and restored .
My ex mother in law God bless her was a volunteer at the museum for many years .
Unfortunately I didn't have the appreciation for history 40 years ago that I have now .
