There is a rest area on US395 around the Sierras that has hiking trail access. I can't remember exactly where it was at. I know it was on the western side of the road. I'm thinking it was near Bishop, but not for sure. Anyway, I parked the truck there once and went out walking in the pines on a gorgeous sunny afternoon. Figured I'd pass that on to any other truckers who enjoy hiking as much as I do.

I hate to dust off an old thread, but... does anyone remember running 395 in the late 90's to mid 2000s?
or Remember any handles out there, like Captian Kirk, Red Ryder, Girl Watcher, Leroy, Sandman, Ralphie, Grasshopper, Drummer...ect.
I can go on... I was dedicated bid for 7 years out there.Oxbow Thanks this. -

Wow, dusty indeed. I used to run between Battle Mountain and Bakersfield hauling Barium back in the day say between 2006 and 2014. Don't recall any of the handles though. Used to stop at night by the NDOT top of the hill all the other business were long gone.
Lav-25 Thanks this.
