I made it out of orientation and I am in my 5th week of training. We got a message over qualcomm stating changes in lease program. They are offering no money down leases so i am considering. I was told that I could go straight into leasing. Does anyone recommend leasing and how much more do you bring home with leasing. I was told you have truck payment, 85 dollar insurance, 11 cent/mile maintenance and fuel cost. Are there any other hidden cost I should know about? Any info on this is much appreciated My ruff calculations say as long as I get 3000 miles a week I would come out way ahead.

Two words,DO NOT!!
Sorry but "Ruff Calculations" can not factor in "Reality"
I own six,4 of which are paid for. They run good 28-3800 per wk loaded.
Now is not the time for new trucks or any sort of new truck responsibility

More questions -
I am an ex-KLLM driver looking to get back into trucking. It's been about 13 years since I drove with them, and 10 years since I came off the road, and forfeitted my CDL..... First - Are they hiring now??
Second - Do they have a training school now? I'm planning on getting my CDL at an accredited training school, where I'll only have to pay $180/session with a trainer, and will probably only need 3, or so sessions. I'm hearing it's better to go to a company with a driving school though. Is this just so you're assured of a job, and the company can ultimately charge you 4K???? That's BS if you ask me.
Does anyone think I would stand a better chance of being re-hired at KLLM, considering I drove for them for about 3 years, or will I just be looked at as just another driver student?
Lastly, does KLLM have an on-board pet policy for Co. drivers? This is of immmense consideration to me. -
ACCREDITED does Not Mean GUARANTEED!!
There are dots that connect those two, FIND THEM!! -
Yeah. I realize that in today's trucking industry nothing is guaranteed. So, how do I go about finding out if a trucking co. will honor training from a certain school? At least give me a dot to start at.

What I "could" say today would be "vapor" tomorrow
Truthfully I think the Circus left town yesterday with a butt load of ticket holders for tonights show.

You're talking in circles, and I tend to be more of a square-head. I come here looking for advice. I have a lot to consider, and I want to make sure go about this in the most sensible, prudent (and yes, inexpensive, and timely) manner as possible. I guess in today's industry I'm asking for miracles, but I'm trying to remain optimistic. Those that have posted here have created a real bleak picture of the obstacles I might encounter. This is not only something I want to do, but due to circumstances out of my control it's something I have to do.
Anyone that can give me any kind of solid advice, and tell it to me like it really is would be helpful.
