1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Am I really asking for too much?

I posted this in a Company thread, and me being new to this forum, I didn't realize this topic existed. It belongs here, so I'm going to post it in this category.

OK, I guess I'm the type of guy that needs things laid out as simplistic as possible, so I'll ask my question in as little words as possible --
What would be the quickest, most inexpensive, way for an ex-driver with 8 years of non-current experience, and a forfeited CDL (10 years ago) to get an OTR job with a company that has an on-board pet policy??
And YES, I HAVE prayed for a miracle!! So, no more comments from the peanut gallery! LOL

Forget about your being an ex driver or ever having had a CDL. To a company you are a brand new hire. You will have to get a CDL, probably by going to school, either on your own or through a company. Your pet will have to have a place to stay at lest for the time you are with a trainer. Companies are probably becoming more strict about allowing pets at any time now that there are numerous unemployed drivers to choose from.

SkiMania, I'm just a humble wannabe but here's my humble suggestion. Get on the horn with some real live recruiters from some of the mega-carriers. Might take more than a few calls to get one to talk to you these days. Wear out your dialing finger, get a concensus of opinion, and go from there. If you got this suggestion from the peanut gallery already, excuse me. Anyway, I wish you and your furry friend success and I hope you both find a good home!
