If it pays the bills and supports the family then that is all that really matters in the end. Better of than some :) Rough life sometimes though. Yeah that is when my mind goes crazy.....sitting and not driving. All the time to overthink every little thing.

I don't even know where to start with this, and don't even know why I'm responding to this to begin with. I realize times have changed, and people have changed even more. I got that. My mom and dad knew each other 2 weeks and got married. They shared 64 years together before my mom died. I proposed to my wife after 6 weeks of dating, and will celebrate 50 years together next year. My wife and I realized early in our relationship that neither one of us were perfect, and we accepted that. A lot of young people today think they are perfect and they expect their mate to be the same. That's #########!!! So he forgets to pick up a loaf of bread, and it's grounds for divorce. If people in general, and young people in particular, would accept the fact of life that we are all the small end of something whittled down to a fine point, maybe finding a life long mate wouldn't seem so impossible. What it all boils down to is simply boys never become men, and girls never become women. I could go on and on, but I'll shut it down. This post is not directed at anyone in particular.

I blame pop culture for a lot of what you’re describing here. Everybody wants what somebody else has thinking it’s flawless while failing to consider what they idolize will have its own flaws.

True. We were engaged within 3 months and married 1 year in. Current working on 27 years. Same as you said, neither of us are perfect and we understand that. We don’t go running to other people because things are not perfect every day. We work through problems together with the understanding we are both different people and find common ground to have a loving fun relationship.

Exactly as you said, it's still a truck you're stuck in. But you get home for a day or two and you're itchin to get gone again.

I have a friend that dated a girl for 9 years. They decided to finally get married and after about 14 months were divorced. My wife and I dated for 3 months and got married and have been together for 25 years. Every situation is different. But when you meet the right one you just know. My longest relationship before my wife was 8 months. That was the longest I could stand being around anyone before I met my wife.
