Nine years in today, roughly 850k of safe miles, and I want to say thank you.

Here is one of my first comments on this forum:
Follow me through Central Refrigerated training

My life absolutely changed the day I took the trip up from SW CO to attend some company CDL school in SLC UT.

Without that thread I linked, I wouldn't be here today. From Training to OTR to beverage delivery back to OTR to the oilfields to now where I sit in a cushy regional job nearly home every night gig for the past 6 years. Thank you to all that have helped me along the way.

Thank you to the threads talking about everything from mechanical problems to how to handle office ######## and every single thing in between. I owe a lot of you a beer.

Two and half years here and the same sentiment. Learned so much and seriously doubt I'd have made it without the wisdom, knowledge and experience shared with me on this site.
I think the biggest thing was about expectations. I started thinking and exploring the idea several years before I actually started. Due to what I learned here, I had a really good idea of what all this was and importantly wasn't. Having realistic expectations was paramount. I think one of the biggest shortfalls many newbies have and probably causes many to quit is that they have unrealistic expectations on what being a driver is and isn't. My opinion at least!
Congratulations on your years and safe miles!! Heck of a good accomplishment!!!!

More congratulations. I’m just starting out, almost through my first 30,000 with a great trainer; I’ll be on my own soon. Loving every bit of it.

Thanks to all the seasoned pros for the guidance.

A great trainer is the reason I even made it one year, much less nine. I have lost touch with him in recent years.
