My recommendation: when it gets annoying, crank the squelch. At least that way somebody right next to you could still punch through
Do truckers use the CB anymore?

It is interesting how quiet the 11 meter airwaves can be. Of course we can thank cellphones for that. Maybe more activity in the big cities??? Even the interstates activity is up and down. What amazes me is all these CB shops that are so busy working and selling radios. Someone has to be using them.
Like most people, I have several radios. Maybe I should install them in both bathrooms, basement, and garage to get some use out of them. Ha.Blue jeans, Dadetrucking305, The_vett and 4 others Thank this. -

Just like SW radio. The CB is only being used in limited ways.
The_vett, Another Canadian driver and Oxbow Thank this. -
New trucks are hard to get antenna system working properly. People get frustrated with not being able to talk as far as they can see. Dependence on newer electronics such as cell phones, gps, tablets etc. People are generally more inclined to isolate themselves since they now eat in their trucks, watch tv in their trucks rather than develop friendships at the restaurants, tv rooms, game rooms. So they are less inclined to reach out on CB or chatter.
