I did not forget about this argument lol
Just have not had any inspections till today. Lots and lots of people already had inspections done with newer trucks and 99 engines without any kind of trouble, however I did not have any hard proof and today I got one. IMG20220518230832_1.jpg IMG_20220518_230953_1.jpg
    DOT does not care!
To tell you more. I am getting IFTA audited now. When inspector asked why I use paper logs on my 2003 truck, I just told him that engine was swapped with a 98 one. No more questions were asked

Yeah 4 years ago lol but I can admit when I was wrong. I mean I was right about what you doing technically being illegal but it's not enforced by anyone so it doesn't matter. Back then I really thought they were serious about the ELD mandate but I know what you're saying about lots of trucks out there like yours and the DOT never raises an eyebrow is right. The DOT really doesn't care. There are guys in newer trucks with fake 1999 epa stickers on their valve covers running paper logs and the DOT never questions it. This is why I think mandatory speed limiters on big trucks will also be a joke that isn't enforced.

Oh and I hate those scales in London, KY they have randomly pulled me in before. They don't care about 72 hour blitzes you better have your #### in order when you roll thru there every time.. Good job on the clean inspection in the older truck!!

6-8 mpg, depending on the season, weight, terrain, etc.
Winter average is 6.2, summer average 6.8. I always drive 70 mph though, if speed limit permits
