The side one looks like it as it has the tube attached to drain away when over presserized. Certainly not your standard rad cap.

So, I'm back for some help with this 2008 Detroit 60 12.7..
Ended up being a blown head gasket. #5 dropped. Extended warranty covering 95% of it. I had them do the other 5 cylinders - basically a complete overhaul, since it was there and insurance covering a lot of the cost.
We get it back and.... no power with empty trailer climbing hills - have to drop it 2 gears, down to 40 mph, blinkers on. WTF?? Back to the Detroit dealer. They don't believe us and I have the driver come back with an empty trailer to prove the loss of power (can't really feel it bobtail).
They can't figure it out. They diagnose and found air filter was really badly plugged, found some plastic bits in fuel line, they did some other little things, including turbo actuator harness which was corroded and shorting. Still no power with a trailer. They keep at it. We test it again with a trailer, on hills, and still no power.
Finally they get a turbo code and it won't pass they hysteresis test. Replace turbo - again, warranty covered about 70% of the bill.
We get it back today and STILL NO POWER on hills with an empty trailer!! Now I'm really mad.
Does anyone have any suggestions for these guys???? The tech said that occasionally when they do an overhead and the injectors are on the bench for an extended period of time that they "degrade" or get stuck or something like that and have to be replaced. At this point, for a few g's more I could have gotten a rebuilt!!!

Did they update the ecm for any reason? Have they checked fuel pressure while under a load? Check to see if boost sensor is reading right? I have had one do this no codes but boost sensor would read wrong when checked with gauge and no power. They ecm will not fuel without seeing proper boost. That is where i would start.
