Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

I love what you said about booking you and forgetting about it. The less trouble you cause the better they seem to love it.

I mean how many times have y’all been in line at the subway, waiting for a shower, waiting to load or unload and you have the absolute jackazz of a trucker either in front of or behind you causing some problem, #####ing about something or just being a complete scumbag. You think these guys are any different with brokers or shippers or receivers? Who wants to work with that again? Being pissed or upset about a situation isn’t an issue, voicing it like a ####### to those you work with is. When it is worthy of bringing it up bring it up professionally unless you have to escalate it. I have had conversations with the big boss man of a large brokerage over a couple hundred dollars detention and what I felt was unfair practices and we came to an understanding. Not a cuss word was thrown and I went through four or five people before we spoke. Be cool, courteous and act like you give a rats ### and I think it will come back around. Not always but in my short time out here I don’t think I have ever called a broker a second time they did not remember me in a positive way. They remembered I didn’t dick around. Not to say I have not gotten some unfair treatment but I just move on and won’t haul for them again. That list is short however. Probably some of the best advice @rollin coal

 

Guess I'll give posting my truck a try. I could of sworn I read on here a while back, one of the brokers was saying the only people that post trucks are desperate or new. I must have read it wrong....

In other news paid $4.48/gal early this morning in Walcott, IA. That's the cheapest I've gotten fuel for in a while...

I'd say at 0100 this morning the truck parking at Iowa 80 was probably 95% or better full... Don't think folks are going to be packing up and leaving the industry as quick as some folks are hoping or thinking...

 

90% of my best paying loads come from brokers calling me. For example I was in NC yesterday, a good spot for vans right now. After taking about 30 calls from brokers from 10am to 1pm, finally a desperate mega broker called. Offered $3100 on 850 miles, I countered at $4500, we settled on 4300. DAT 15 days average showed $3000

 

Judging by this forum recently I think landstar is having a rabies outbreak. Probably caught it from Prime.

I never post my truck. I’m generally not looking for a load long enough to need to do it. I’ve tried it in the past. Never really did much for me.
