THANK YOU!!! My sense lines go back to the battery box, both lines dead at the alternator, traced one back to the battery box, the white one, and it is fused and has a blown 10a fuse. Lazy phuckers
Didnt disconnect the batteries when they swapped the alternator.
Thanks again. Just needed to be steered in the right direction.
I dont do "social media" I watch a little youtube and Truckers Report, that's it. And always get good info here from good people.
Cant say it enough, thanks.Magoo1968, D.Tibbitt and bumper Jack Thank this. -
So that is the 36SI alternator. It's a good alternator and can be completely rebuilt. I prefer this one over the 28SI...because the 28SI is crap.
At any rate, the voltage sense wire doesn't need to be a 10 amp and can probably get away with a 5 amp--but whichever. With this option connected up properly, you should be seeing 14.2 volts nominal.
Honestly, that doesn't surprise me that they blew your sense wire circuit. -
It doesnt look like they were in the battery box at all. They just did it live. That's par for the course these days.
