AK-SHU-ALLY, IF One Merely Uses 3 Clubs (#1 or #2 Driver, A Wedge [for creating those wonderful Divots on Putting Greens which adds Challenge], A Putter), the "clubs Bag" Is seriously easier to handle, so the "bag boy" can west & wewax or deliver the Gamer to their locations.
Doesn't matter if the Golfer (Gamer) is Left or Right Handed (or in another sense), Just use a mid powered Bull Horn or Annoying Loud Scream/Noise (akin to a Mid Volume [??] Train Horn) to ANNOUNCE Your Possible Directional Intent, Even when Not Towing The Line or following the numbered Holes in Sequence.
Increase or decrease or eliminate "scoring" by being multi directional with a goodly supplied ball bag, which is easily afforded from carrying LESS CLUBS.
Alcohol would verily add to multi-directional golfing as well some intentional/unintentional boxing, swimming, napping.

Sometimes, It was FUN to go NIGHT GOLFING whilst implementing the Multi-Directional Practice.

I Paint and Golf....Golf is way more fun if U have the Athletic Ability for the Game. If not, it's difficult and understandable why it wouldn't be considered fun

Clearly your missing the point. Golf is not about actually the score, except on TV, and thats just for show.
Golf is all about the beer carts, wandering around outside, hanging out with friends. Stuff like that.

 

Which would be better out on a boat.

 

Never considered that option but think I'll take a Pass on it
