Yeah shippers and manufactures are no different then a lot of trucking companies. A lot of business run on a thin profit margin and start cutting corners when #### goes bad . If they quit being cheap ##### it wouldn't happen that way.. Kinda like how so many manufactures moved their businesses overseas because they are cheap. Then covid happened and were still feeling the effects of supply chain issues...

See the theme here ? Cheapskates deserve what they get Coming to them.

I feel the same way when the rates are up. The society hates the truck drivers and doesn't care about them.

Makes sense to me. I've amassed enough tools and equipment to build my service truck which keeps my truck and trailers on the road so it would be wise to move that into the direction of another business venture.

I don't plan on driving forever and most of us know the truck is nothing but the mule in this entire chain. All the easier money is made off the mule. Some make even more than the mule with a lot less overhead. I'd love to ditch all the governmental bodies from my pockets.

Could work for a shop a bit and take a break from all the responsibility of ownership while I regroup and rebuild. Maybe I'll never return to the driver's seat and put a driver in the truck while I continue to grow the repair business.

The phenomenon we find most interesting on TTR, especially amongst the esteemed members, is the " Look At Me " persona.

Look at my truck, my freight, my coin, my nag.

Look At Me!!!! I did this!!!!!! Arms several feet longer than normal to pat themselves on the back.

Then when things are a little challenging.........." It's not my fault. "

I can’t show off my truck right now because I’m still dragging around a dumb lease trailer with no stainless or extra lights and steel wheels.
