What would be your expectation for pay per mile and weekly milage for two new drivers that are team driving?

    Thanks!

I’m guessing about 60 cents to the truck about .30 cents each paid for all miles. It may have gone up a little bit but when I went through trucking school about 4 yrs ago me being a new driver since I was teaming with my husband they paid me .30 cents and since he had 7 yrs experience they paid him .36 cents. We were paid all miles. Basically starting out in the trucking industry you should expect to bring home about 1,000 per week so 2,000 for the 2 of you. That is if you are going to be company drivers which I’m assuming you are.

I’m guessing they will have you run anywhere between 2700 miles to 4,000 miles starting out. Who are you guys looking at running with?

@Chinatown will give you some good advice on where to go. Have you all already got your cdls? Or still need to get your cdls? I was solely basing the information on you all being new drivers and what I experienced 4 yrs ago. I’m saying the industry may have changed a little but probably not much.

Depends on the company. When you're driving and your wife is sleeping; you're paid per mile and your wife is also paid for all miles you drive, even though she is sleeping. When she's driving, you're paid for all miles she drives also.
In other words, you're both paid for all miles the truck runs and you're paid whether you're driving or sleeping.

Its gotta be more than that. If it were me now, I wouldn't do it for those amounts because I make those amounts solo.

I think the OP would do well teaming for an LTL company like R+L or ODFL.

as of now Id rather not say the name of the company however it is a local company with less than 100 trucks. I know someone very well who has been driving for 30 years and the last 10 years have been with this company. He highly recommended starting with this company because of their treatment of their drivers. “They know my name and who I am, Im not just a number to them”

we have our DOT physicals and drug tests comple. We haven’t started the community college course yet.

That’s the best way to get your CDL
I dunno aboit where you are, But the community colleges in my state are reasonable priced , $1700, and is a 12 week class that’s very good . Plus when you’re done you don’t owe your soul to a company for the next year.

.60 seems a bit low even for a new team, but either way the world is your oyster after you get a year in. My company requires 2 years experience, and my wife and I make .94/mi, and about $1 with accessory pay included.
