I think they just like posting about political or killings. All I ever see anymore.

How long before the current fuel prices become normal for everyone and $12 a gallon is the new moon level?

My good friend works at The American Legion.

A lot vets on fixed incomes are losing their homes here, that they've had forever ( renting ), because of the WTF out of control inflation.

They're being told," You're not homeless, you have a car."

    It's what the people wanted.

This is one of the saddest things about our situation as a country. No one will even help out the old retired military people. My father was a retired Navy Vet. WW2 vet with 25 years in the service. Much respect for those who have served!

Something else we wonder about amongst the chest beaters ( and the first to cry like a woman ), and esteemed members is; why not just park the truck and take that long awaited fishin trip?

All their posts detail pup trailers full of cash. So why even care about fuel costs or rates? Why not just polish those air cleaners to high sheen?

I drove a cab for several years when I put away my electrical tools.

Go to this guy's house one evening, little mobile home, guy reminds me incredibly of the old man.

Place is kind of disorganized, lot's of papers on the table, etc.

He's a paratrooper from The 82nd that jumped on D-Day.

He's got a catheter in his chest for dialysis. Says he's not got too much longer to go. Wife left him.

He offered me $20 just to keep him company for awhile. Another $20 to get him two chili cheese dogs from Sonic.

So I got his chili dogs and listened to his stories, not much about the war, but his life.

Didn't take his money. He asked would I come back from time to time. I said sure.

He passed on by the time I'd gone back by about 10 days later.

That one will always stick with me.

Not really, the rates are more than meaningful:

I grew up listening to older people lives. My father was 59 when I was born. Best part of my life was around all the old timers that went through the wars and depression.

I sure miss times just talking to them.
