Managed to work something out with dispatch on getting home.

While sitting at the Indy yard was asked to take a reefer and fuel it for them. After talking with the guy about getting me home, he found 2 loads but would require me to run mornings on them. Fine by me if it means getting by the house on time.

I'm to pick up a load tomorrow and rush it to Lincoln to tcall then pick up another load up in Iowa headed down to Dallas for a Friday delivery and then just deadhead 220 miles to the house.

Always room for that to happen here...

My biggest gripe would be grabbing the load tomorrow and after tcalling it be told other load 'cancelled'.

Load I did today was in the system as a 12pm live unload. Got to the customer and told it is a drop for the 5th anytime after 12pm. They kindly accepted the load early but would of messed with current plans if not.

    Lonesome and jethro712 Thank this.

A shaffer driver whol I just ran into at a drop yard stated he don’t want to run more than 350-400mi day and his words were that he told his asset mgr he must be parked by 1600 everyday or it screws up his schedule….good grief..

Night dispatch asked for a favor around 11pm last night. While I was waiting for my 10 to be up was asked if I could fuel another trailer on the yard. This would make it impossible to make my tcall on time but I couldn't leave them hanging.

Trailer was borderline going to die. Needle was on the E and took up to 45 gallons once I got it fueled.

Just like I predicted I was not able to make my tcall and so am parked just 200mi from our yard. Hopefully this doesn't mess with the driver picking it up.

Also for what it's worth the night dispatcher who asked me to fuel the 2 trailers thanked me and gave me his direct number.

Said he owes me and when I come back from hometime to call him, and he will get me 3 back to back long runs.

I wonder if he will even remember me after 10 days gone lol but would be nice if he does hold up his end.

Sounds like some of my coworkers. Last year we went to a 9900 mile salary as long as you were available 24 day of the month you got paid for 9900 miles. Anything over 9900 paid an additional $.40 per mile.

Some of us saw this as an opportunity to make some serious coin. (I made an extra 6k in ten months) Others saw it as an opportunity to do the absolute least amount of driving and make 75k a year. We made it a little over a year before they had to change the pay program. Even cost a few guys there jobs because they refused to go back to straight mileage pay.

Next load was changed. Now I'm to pick up a new load just 50 miles from Lincoln that drops 20 miles from the house.

Getting paid all them miles. Have to book it tho since it only has a day to run over 900 miles.
