Indeed. That one speeding ticket is a disqualifier for at least 3 years at most places. I know I couldn't touch him with that alone.

The drugs thing? Was that pre-CDL days? We'd need to know details and something like that would go into review between recruiting, Safety, VP and the COO where we would discuss the details, merits, and derogatory marks. That would literally have to be a singular charge pre-CDL days , having proved he's clean now for 5+ years. Even if the ticket were 14 or less over, that drugs charge would be a no-go with the ticket. Being 15+ over, that ticket alone would be an automatic disqualifier (for us) until 5/25/2024.

Yeah, you're gonna be slingin' beer kegs for a while yet... and probably never get into one of the union joints, at least not for a minimum of 5 more years.

Please remember to always get a good lawyer to handle all traffic tickets, the money spent on fighting all tickets will be nothing compared to seeing your mvr turned to a bad nightmare?

Maybe not actively trying, but you did.

    Well, in my opinion.
Because any time you don't have a list of companies someone could try...; well, that just does not happen very often.
It is basically saying, there is no hope until that thing is cleared from your record.

Did you have a lawyer for ANY of those tickets ?

And you’ve got transporting drugs tickets on the MVR , is there also a criminal conviction to go with those ?

for those that haven’t gotten a ticket , always , Always ALWAYS Use a lawyer for moving violations.
    Always !

a decent lawyer could have gotten that 19 over down to less or a suspended sentence or dismissed all together.

“The ticket clinic “ gets them down all the time . If they run into a courtroom or prosecutor that won’t reduce their tickets , they show up in court with a lawyer and start asking questions and asking for all kinds of Paperwork and permits and calibration and training records , and drag every ticket out for about three hours in court .
The judge and prosecutor plan on about 4 minutes for each ticket .

when The prosecutor thought they were going to process 45 tickets and only get one finished , they decide to start lowering tickets to a small fine and no points on the MVR .

I'm going to be different from everyone else, post CDL, I got a ticket for double the limit, 90/45 in my POV, pleaded it down to 10-15 over, company and insure were pissed at me, but nothing happened, so it's going to depend on the company.

However, that illegal transport of drugs, even though it's 5 yrs ago, might scare some people off, unless you can prove you've changed your ways. As a company owner, I can prevent you from speeding, your truck will gov. at 68 mph, but I can't stop you from working a deal with 3 finger Tommy to stop at an on-ramp 5 miles outside of town to take a whizz, and one of Tommie's henchmen steps out of the bushes, wedges a kilo of whatever between my trailer crossmember, slips back into the darkness and away you go, then 5 miles short of the drop/hook you pull off to take another whizz and one of Tommie's buddies steps out of the bushes, takes the package, slips you a couple Franklins for your trouble and slips back into the bushes.
